SEO - Keywords

Search Engine Optimization is a marketing tool to use on your site in order to get better traffic to your site. Something that has been in the news numerous times in the past is keywords as well as content creation. In this article we will first look at keywords and then at content to help you build a better website.

Keywords used to be stuffed into the articles to get search engines to rank them higher on the page rank. This would allow the website to be in top billing on the search engine and generate more traffic. The days for this are over. There are hundreds of sites out there that used keyword stuffing just to get traffic, but then the site was practically useless. To stop this from happening search engines have changed the rules. Now the keywords should be well placed and appropriate, with plenty of relevant content. If the content is found lacking, but there is an overabundance of keywords, you will go to the bottom of the deck. Keywords also need to be designed based on what the consumer is going to be looking for. The most helpful the term is to the site the better the ranking. If you use an obscure keyword the search engine may not give you high points for that, even if a lot of consumers use it.

The content along with the keywords is important. The content needs to be HTML based, and you shouldn’t have a lot of images or pictures on the page. Instead well placed and thoroughly helpful articles will be more important. With search engine optimization the content must be relevant, but more than that easy to read, interesting, and helpful. Content that has a lot of 100 dollar words or insufficient grammar will be marked down.

Remember the target audience should be considered in everything to do with website design. You don’t want to understand the information; you want the consumer to understand. If the consumer is learning the basics on something, words that are confusing will frustrate them and they will leave.

The content should also be well placed on the website. It should be in an easy to navigate manner that makes sense. You don’t want to have an in depth look at your product on the home page; instead this content needs to be an overview and explanation of what can be found and where it can be found.

Lovely to work with! My project manager helped me develop new ideas by explaining the technology. They guided me when I was stuck. From start to finish they exceeded my expectations and I’m glad to say that not once did I need to chase up on any requests, they were always keeping me updated through the message board, I am satisfied with every aspect of your work. I have nothing but praise and many future referrals for you guys.
